Yamaha 7.2 AVR, RX-A1000

This is an AVENTAGE model and has been a great receiver in my HT. It's in very good condition, basically coming out of the box, into my cabinet for several years, and back into the box. I have the remote, but have not been able to find the calibration mic. I've actually used another brand mic and it seemed to work fine.

$300 plus shipping. For members in good standing (as determined by me!), I'll cover the first $50 of shipping. PayPal F&F only. Well, cash works if you're local to the Baltimore area (specifically 21157).

Another thumbs up for the Adventage line, these are nothing like the regular yammies. Anyone thinking of upgrading their AVR, this is a good place to start.
As for the calibration mic, I bought a new one directly from Yamaha Canada, with shipping came to 23$ CAD cheaper than ebay or amazon (at the time), just saying in case some is asking.

PM sent with some interest. Maybe others can chime in.....how would this compare to pioneer elite vsx94txh? Would it be a lateral move or an upgrade? I use the AVR as a pre with B&K AV5000 series 2 amp.

    Thanks,
    Shawn

I haven't heard the pioneer but in regards to features they are about the same. The Pioneer seems to be a bit heavier. Apart from sq, what I like best about the aventage is the UI. Compared to the Onkyo AVRs I have had in the past the Yamaha's responsiveness is instantaneous. Navigating menus and choosing albums or songs via dlna is much better, there is no lag or buffering problems. Just choose the song and it plays instantly. That's a big plus in my book. If the pioneer UI is as good than I would think the Aventage is a lateral move.

Still, someone needs to grab this. 3 bones won't even get you an entry level receiver, and this is a good leap forward from that.
