    LMAO.....If I had a nickel....

Well my friend, if your dead set on the Emo, better find some warmer sounding cables to hook everything up with. Unless you like needles in your ears when you crank it up.

What speaker cables and interconnects do you plan on using ?

The only thing I see lacking in that receiver is the surround processing is out of date, no new codecs like DTS HD Master audio that all the Blu-rays carry these days. You'd just have to make sure you get a player with analog outputs to enjoy the newer codecs.

Congrats on your purchase. You will need five ICs to connect the amp to your receiver.

Once you have had a chance to put everything together, put in a favorite cd that you are very familiar with and be prepared to be amazed.

What this suppose to mean you nut lol. I'm having fun with it, and I got everything for a decent price for my first a/v system(I think atleast). $799 pair RTIA9s, $799 for emotiva xpa-5 + $250 for this pioneer vsx-82txs. Do the math Under 2K(fairly good for first system). There will be a lot of trial and error with equipment, but will have fun in the process:) I will be dropping more K's on another system, most likely in future. Remember this my first a/v system not my last!!

That looks to be a pretty good receiver, but with only 3 HDMI inputs, you may soon find yourself wanting something newer; for example, my Bluray player uses 2 of my AVRs inputs all by itself.

You probably could have held off on ordering an amp until you heard the Pioneer with your speakers, but going 5 channel from the start was probably a good idea.

What other speakers are you running besides the RTiA9s?
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

  • I will get the rtia1 bookshelf speakers and a powered subwoofer and probably a centre channel speaker.

I got it all planned one HDMI input for my Xbox one, one for the ps4, and one for my android box.
