I'm sitting here in my La-Z-boy leather Matinee electric theater seating watching the 30th Anniversary release of the legendary 1973 David Bowie concert film (originally released in 1983) on Palladia with the Polk SRTs cranked to an appropriate listening level. While the video of the film has not been remastered, the sound has and it is awesome! It's a shame this has never been released on Blu-Ray. I would run right out and buy it. I may still buy the DVD version. It's that good.
If you haven't had the opportunity to see this gem, go get it. It definitely represents Bowie at his finest. He brings the screaming crowd to tears. It definitely makes you realize just how great rock music was back then. Maybe I'm getting old but it seems that nothing even comes close today.

I am watching it right now, and I find it bitter sweet. Consummate musicians and performers. The best way to predict the future is to invent it.
It is imperative that we recognize that an opinion is not a fact. -
It was the last concert of the 1973 Aladdin Sane tour and the farewell concert for Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders from Mars. The people in the audience really got their money's worth.

David Bowie got me through college, since I was pretty much his "phallus in pigtails..." (the oldest son of poor working class immigrants neither of whom had a H.S. Diploma) compared to the incoming Preppies and future Yuppies-I felt like I was up there with Major Tom, can you spell ALIENATION? Now I teach the sweethearts; a wonderful irony! Be careful what you wish? But always remain "yourself"!
I'm a phallus in pigtails
And there's blood on my nose
And my tissue is rotting
Where the rats chew my bones
And my eye sockets empty
See nothing but pain
I keep having this brainstorm
About twelve times a day
So now, you could spend the morning walking with me, quite amazed
As I'm Unwashed
and Somewhat Slightly Dazed (Bowie. Unwashed and Somewhat Slightly Dazed/Space Oddity)
Ziggy was my first Bowie Album. I was an early fan of the Chameleon (1972 was one heck of a year), lol Friends, kept asking David who, Ziggy what...then I'd just play a couple tracks and heads would nod. Still have my original, but it's beat up because all we had were cheap a s s TTs we could barely afford back then. I look at the vinyl guys today and think, "do you realize what we played that stuff ON?"Post edited by cnh onCurrently orbiting Bowie's Blackstar.!

I had the DVD I'm my basket on Amazon on Friday night and today went to check out and make the purchase but not surprisingly it is sold out.
I hope there are plans to re-release it on Blu-Ray. -
I just ordered the Berlin Trilogy the 3 CD's and 5 others to complete the 26 needed to have all his output. I seen that almost everything Bowie is sold out my order that I got an email on says estimated arrival date February 23rd. So yeah since Bowies passing, it appears everything Bowie is on backorder. Not sure if waiting it out for the Blu-ray version is worth it, the picture would not be much better as it was filmed 40 some years ago and the audio on the dvd has been remastered so I would order it and wait it out as I doubt a blu-ray will be out anytime soon.Home Theater

Wouldn't the Blu-ray be lossless audio vs MP3 on the DVD?
