Mounting Brackets
I have a pair of M10's and a pair of Monitor 40's that I wish to hang from brackets at the back of my room. Where is it safe to run wood screws into the speaker cabinet to mount on brackets?
Is there anything on the backs of the speakers that would be damaged above the speaker wire terminals on the M10's or between the air port and wire terminals on the Monitor 40's?
I purchased 1" wood screws to go with the brackets. They require 2 screws per speaker.

You really need to open up the speaker to see if there is anything in that place that could get damaged. I also would recommend to secure them a little better. What I did is drilled the holes for the bracket but then oversized the hole to installed hurricane nuts from the inside. This way you just don't have a wood screw holding the bracket on but a machine screw that has a metal insert holding on from the inside of the speaker. The speaker enclosures are made of particle board or MDF and don't hold the wood screws as good as normal wood. Also make sure your brackets are rated for the weight of the speaker. I mounted S4 speakers on the back of my wall and the brackets had 4 screws per speaker. The S4 are half the size of the M10s.Polk S10, S8, S4
