LSI15 vs Lsim703

I know the replacement for the LSI15 would be the 705's, but due to the current similarity in price now days, which one would you prefer for music the old 15's or the new 703's?

    IMHO the 703's. But the pricing is way apart. You can get the 15's for about $400 today. Your not going to find 703's for double that. The 15's will need more amp. The 703's can be very nice with a little tube amp.

    I was going by the Polk outlet price which is $20 difference, used market is more it and miss.
    My main concern is stock SQ between the two, since there was a lot of talk of modding the xovers on the LSI.

    I've owned both and I say the 703. I actually like them better than my 15's that had modded XO's and the woofer upgrade. Don't forget the cost of speaker stands. That's going to be over $100 and that's if you go pretty cheap like me.

    A nice pair of Skylans or equivalent will go for about $400.... at the end of the day couple more hundies and you could be into a set of 705's which IMO are the best of the bunch
