Would this work? (as opposed to headphone amp)

I was wondering what you guys think. If I had a pair of Senn HD 650 and connected them to my 2-ch tube amp via this Y-adapter plug, would that degrade the performance of the headphones? Does it get plugged into the pre-output stage or speaker level connection?
Would a dedicated headphone amp better the performance of the headphones?

I'd move carefully. 1st up- is it a common ground amp?

It would work on a SS amp but the tube amp won't like the high impedance, may puke out a few tubes or the transformer. If you put a resistor load across each channel on the tube amp you would be ok.
