Sony PS-HX500 turntable
The HX500 can convert analog files into either Sony's proprietary DSD file format or 24-bit, high-resolution WAV files. These are Sony's formats of choice for its hi-res audio devices, and the HX500 is designed to work in concert with those devices. The turntable also includes a newly designed app that allows users to easily edit their converted files.

Technics SL 1200 turntable
The legendary Technics SL-1200 turntable has been a mainstay of the DJ scene for decades now, but the tanklike direct-drive turntable has also long had a quiet reputation for sound quality as well. And for the 50th anniversary of the SL-1200, Technics is releasing two new "Grand Class" models aimed at audiophiles: the aluminum-cased SL-1200G and the magnesium limited anniversary edition SL-1200GAE, of which only 1,200 will be produced.

The myth of high-resolution audio has been dispelled several times over at this point; there's little end-user need for quality beyond what can be found on a standard CD. (This is true no matter what jack's being used.)
I was done reading about the turntable when I saw this from the commenter. The Gear... Carver "Statement" Mono-blocks, Mcintosh C2300 Arcam AVR20, Oppo UDP-203 4K Blu-ray player, Sony XBR70x850B 4k, Polk Audio Legend L800 with height modules, L400 Center Channel Polk audio AB800 "in-wall" surrounds. Hehe. The new Sony Alpha Mark II is sexy. It is too revealing, but Adobe products will fix all that mess.
In Sony I trust. Haha -
Third-hand news, but, given the timing, I assume this (these) was (were) introduced at CES:

I have a bad feeling about this glut of rekkid playas flooding the market lately... I don't think this will come to a good end. Weren't there A LOT of dinosaurs plodding around JUST before the "K-T boundary" event? ;- )

That TT looks pretty darn blah to me. Besides Mr. H, why are you looking at TT's anyway ? You should be looking at the cameras so I can see more pics of that crazy beautiful joint you have.
They did unveil some cool roll up TV screens I hear. Sign me upHT SYSTEM-

let's see, rekkid playas... yeah, I look at them, too -- ideally spinnin' a rekkid, like this, just yesterday...

So, which color won out? That Blue Label London would be pretty hard to beat.

I thought that that the new pressing sounded pretty darned good. A little clicky-poppy, but I didn't clean it at all (other than a quick carbon fiber brushing) prior to playing it.
The London was a bit shriller but overall held its own, though.
-
What did the NEW pressing cost? I wonder. My daughter wants a few NEW pressings that "I" am going to have to purchase for her, the prices seem extraordinary to me but what can a poor father do! I'm also going to have to lend her an old Ratshak table so she can play these things-an 18 year old dabbling in vinyl. What is the WORLD coming to!!Currently orbiting Bowie's Blackstar.!
Polk Lsi-7s, Def Tech 8" sub, HK 3490, HK HD 990 (CDP/DAC), AKG Q701s

I bought it at a local brick 'n' mortar, so probably top-dolla... I'm OK with that.
I think it was $24.95 or something like that. No sales tax in Nuevo Hampshiro, tho', of course. Live Free and Still Die Eventually! ;- )
