4:3 to 16:9 Satellite Problem

I have a RCA DTV satellite system hooked up to my RCA HD61W140 via S-Video cable, my problem is when I change the aspect ratio in the satellite options menu from 4:3 to 16:9, nothing happens to the picture , it stays at 4:3. Am I missing something?

It probably needs to be connected using a component video cable to use the 16:9 setting.

I agree and it has to be a HD Sat. box.
