Speaker configuration
Hi Folks, new to the Forum, but a big fan of Polk Sound.
I am building a set of 3 way Hifi speakers ( custom look) and would appreciate some advice on a good speaker mix with some model numbers. Amp is a 50w per channel T class Muse. I needed compact low heat for the design. I have a 3 way crossover, but havent settled on it yet.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

I suggest you read a few books on speaker design before you go any further.Political Correctness'.........defined

Thanks, i have read books and have been in the AV business for many years, hifi sound is a new area for me. The box design will be done around the speaker configuration and this project is more about funky and useful. So, instead of telling me to read further, what would you do with a basic speaker setup. 1 tweeter, 1 midrange and 1 woofer. Thanks."If you strive for the absurd, you will achieve the impossible!"

To add.... I was looking at the bookshelf type of speaker layout, which is normally a 2way setup. The confusing part is the amount of speaker models in the range.
This project is more experimental for now. I know that i could start with a kit, but I really dont need the box. Once I have managed to get a basic speaker arrangement, i will then decide on amp upgrades and crossovers. I could also purchase a complete set of speakers, but this also kinda defeats the purpose.
I hope that this makes my intentions a little bit clearer. If I need to clarify anything to help with some advice, then lets discuss it."If you strive for the absurd, you will achieve the impossible!" -
Welcome to the forum but maybe DIY audio forum might be better suited. You will probably get a lot more feed for your project.2-channel: Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Dynaudio C1-II Signatures
