Into 2016 with a giant aluminum box...

Couple of months ago regular readers saw my return to a lone CD player w/Parasound P5 & A21 driving my 2 channel w/705's sound.
I am not a huge 'listen to the whole album' guy I really needed my iTunes library & iPad Remote App to jump from song to song. Thanks to my son I'm back. I cut up a (recycled through compression) rubber & plastic sheet I'd had for years, placed it on the carpet and on most shelves. My son transferred my iTunes library on my Windows Dell Desktop onto 'bought on eBay' Mac Pro (early 2008) connected directly w/digital optical Toslink to the P5. The NAD CD player connects directly to the P5 via digital coax. Yes I am playing & comparing same songs via both sources. As always wit & wisdom appreciated.

Hello and happy new year and nice looking set up,
Why do you have your speakers on the rubber pad? Have you tried then spiked to the floor? It would seem to me that they would float on the carpet / uncoupled thus defeating the purpose of the spikes

    Cheers

HNY Skip & p500, the slabs are recycled rubber & plastic, many years a go I was given couple of 4' x 8' x 1" sheets, they cut with circular saw. Stuff is dense & heavy. Will try combinations with & w/o this year, really wanted it for the shelves got carried away.

The Mac Pro was $400 on eBay-clean w/Yosemite OS. I have an old Mac Mini, the Pro is definitely overkill, son was keen, he did all the work, very fast track change response and album art is immediate, Toslink directly into the P5. Plan to upgrade the HD to SSD.

Removed the rubber under the 705's. Took pic of the Parasounds, because I like looking at them.
Edit: MacPro, OS upgraded to El Capitan (for free because it's Apple).
