If you like movies, check out The Story of Film: An Odyssey. It made me appreciate things in film that I never paid attention to before. Plus the narrator's voice is awesome.

Very sorry. I watched it there a few months ago, they must have dropped it since then. Great doc if you get the chance to see it.

Netlix is good for doing that. I spend more time adding stuff to my que than watching only to have it drop off by the time the mood strikes me to watch it. Funny I dropped directv because I didn't watch it, now I have Netflix and Prime and almost never watch them, I am always watching "free" stuff on Youboob when I watch anything. Kind of fun finding b horror movies that I saw at the drive in when I was a kid.

Just watched part of a Godzilla marathon....check out Godzilla vs. Monster zero. Classic chessey sci fi movie. It has everything your looking for in a 60s Japaneese sci fi flick.

Check out "WWII from Space." It's a well done documentary about WWII (obviously), but gives a perspective from space (orbit around Earth). I learned quite a bit from watching this.

    It's available for Netflix streaming.
    No excuses!

Strong, that was very good, I too learned a lot of stuff that I did not know.

BTW the 30 for 30 "The16th man" was one of the most incredible stories that I have ever seen!

Try an episode of Archer. Rapid-fire, silly, smart, crude, dozens of funny historical and cultural references, weird characters. Mashes up different decades, vintage TV, cartoons, and corporate culture. Sorta like if Seth McFarlane wrote a James Bond series.

    Tickles my funnybone.

Edit: Forgot to warn you that it's animated. I poo-pooed it because of that when my son watched it. But when I actually watched an episode, I was hooked. The focus is on the witty writing, so the animation doesn't really matter much; but the realism of the backgrounds is pretty amazing to me.

Not an action movie, but a very moving drama with some comedy relief parts as well. Check out this great sleeper "Ode to my Father." Korean flick with English subtitles.

If you like a good murder/mystery drama, checkout "The Killing". All 4 seasons are good; if you're not hooked after the first couple of episodes, then you don't like it.

Tonight we will be watching the last episode of Bloodline. ( first season, no others yet). We've watched the Killing, HOC and many more just can't remember.
I do want to watch the Last Kingdom and another new one about some Serial Killer.

I believe I am nearly caught up to present day on the documentary series, "Making a Murderer". One of the most compelling, dumbfounding, riveting things I've ever seen.

Grisham/Doctorow/Capote couldn't come close to matching the drama or characters of this real life saga.

Watch this! But you should be prepared to invest, I dunno, 10 to 15 hours with as few breaks as possible. Incredibly binge-inducing and possibly not completely resolved.

I'm almost finished watching this series. Jaw dropping is a vast understatement!

I have to wonder if the Feds will step in at some point to examine this case.

Interesting article.. it also states you shouldn't believe everything you watch on TV. You also shouldn't belive everything you read on the Internet. Very interesting series though, and definitely a nail biter.
