PS Audio Dectet (my impression)

So, the unit was delivered yesterday and well packaged if I might add. For what it is, it's a good looking and beefy feeling little piece of gear.
I really didn't know what to expect nor was I looking to have my socks knocked off by adding this, but more wanting peace of mind with some sort of quality protection of my gear. That I think it provides and my take on the sound was "it's only noticeably better at higher volumes", as to where before when I cranked it up to a loud volume, some of the quality suffered and that problem is gone. That to me was huge, but at lower volumes it seems pretty much the same...which is and was real good before adding the Dectet. I am happy with it to the point I am ordering another one for my living room set up next week when my guy comes back in to work. I'm maybe premature in my rating but I'm going ahead and giving the Dectec 2 thumbs way up and the personnel at PS Audio sure is top notch. I am already planing to get 3 of their power cords as soon as I can $wing it, and when my audio adviser (you know who you are ) lets me know which ones to grab. Really glad I got it.

Nice!
It was on my shot list, but it had to fit INTO my rack and the Furman won. Either way, it highlights good, clean power. -

Ok..for the more elaborate term "the noise floor" has dropped. Hope that helps.??

Johnny, did you see that Music Direct has the PS Audio AC-3 power cables at 1.5m on sale for $89? I don't know that you could even build a decent power cable for that, once you factor in decent connectors.
I received one of these cables with a PS Audio UPC 200 I picked up in the Spring. it's pretty nice. 12awg and flexible; cloth braid sleeving.

Because of this, I ordered another last night...cheap. Now all stock cords will be AC3s.
The other question is, swap out the contractor grade outlet and install a PS Audio or equivalent....
I assume the detect is on your dedicated outlet?Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!! -

And to think I was just about to post more pics of my lower priced Pangea AC-9SE 2m cable with some toe in them just for you...
You can forget that MR!
**cant blame you though, those PS Audio cables look nice**

Made by Hubble I believe.

Yes the Dectec is on the dedicated line. Actually I have dedicated lines for both my set ups now and PS Audio uses HUBBELL Outlets hospital grade. I am using those in my basic HT Set up while for my main listening rig I went with FIM 880's and like them better than the Hubs
More musical is all I can testify to.

I just received mine. It sure is big and ugly....lol. It is going to be as hard to hide as an ugly girlfriend. In my setup anyway. The best way to predict the future is to invent it.

Hubbell yes thanks. Got mine today.
My amp is dead quite as it is (except when spinning vinyl at very high volume)
So I wasn't looking for much improvement there.
I'm slumming with power cord at the moment as the cord didn't make it
today. Still like it as is. Some improvement in the bottom end maybe.
Hard to say as I just swapped in Signal XLRs from the pre to the amp.
I'm using Signal and Pangea power cords out of the Dectet.
A steal at the price they offered them no doubt.

After listening (a lot) I am quite happy with the PS Audio Dectec. The smoothness at higher volume levels is really nice. No doubt I'll be getting one more for my HT set up."if it's not fun, it's not worth it & remember folks, "It's All About The Music"!!
