Hi all,

I just bought a pair of RTi38s, CSi40, PSW303 to go with my RT55i that I got a while back. The RTi38s were opened box items which cost about half the retail price. I also upgraded the free sub PSW202 to the PSW303.

Receiver:
Onkyo, TX-SR601

Fronts:
RT55i

Center:
CSi40

Rears:
RTi38

Sub:
PSW303

Any info. is appreciated.

The 55i is a fine piece of equipment. A pair spent alot of time in my shelter over the weekend. Great IMHO!

From what i have read the 38's will be fine in the rear and match with your 55i's. IMHO don't dump the 55i's. Its cool to see you building a fine system!

I would say it'll sound great. I sort of did the reverse of your tweeter combo, having a CS245i with RTi38's as mains. I couldn't tell a difference in sound across the front. I'd bet it'll sound great for you.

I once owned a pair of 55's... and I miss them to this day. I now have 70's for fronts, which are fine, but I regret not pushing the 55's to the rear. Instead I have 38's in the rear and they do just fine.

    Enjoy!

I don't think the 55i's will really do what you want. It's an ok speaker and all but just doesn't match up with the 38's. Tell you what, I'll take the 55's off your hands and you can use the $ to put down for a pair of 70's. This way everything will be timber matched and seamless.

    ;)

The 55's are so popular, and for good reason, I really wonder why polk doesn't come out with a newer version.
