Hi Everyone,

Well, as some of you might be aware, I'm looking for a sub for my second system. While browsing the used market, I came across some RT55's. I've heard lots about the RT55i's and they have almost become mythical to me as I have heard so much but never actually seen or heard a pair. So my question is, I have the opportunity to pick up this pair for $150. Should I grab them? What should I look out for? One thing that worries me is I won't actually be able to hear them as we would be meeting part way. What do you guys think?

This hobby really gets you hooked and I can't figure out where to stop...

    A disease of the wallet.
I mostly afflicts men, however a few women get it as well (*and there ain't no cure*)
I picked up a used pair on eBay,so of course I did not get the opportunity to listen to them first. For a hundred and fifty bucks if they ain't working it won't be a huge loss. However if they ARE it will be a HUGE gain!! The bass capabilities of these things in a small room with that power port is AMAZING!
Unless you are a died in the wool bass head you will not miss a sub with these.
Cheap tip; Easy upgrade to 55i status.Change the 5502 tweeters to the 5506's if you can find them.
