I I have said this many times before and went through maybe a good 5 or 6 different rack/ stack configurations and none were to my liking. The contemporary rack I built was ok but was a huge dust collector, this Black Laquer behemoth I have now is was to big and does no justice for my 2Bs on the openness side of things. I came across this rack and it seems to fit the bill. It has 6 glass racks which affords the top shelf for the turn table and we go down for there. He's asking at 1st 1st $100 and already got him down down to $80 dollars. Things is that it's a 3 hour round trip plus b/s time and I must hear the thing like I did w/ my Dynanaco Pat-4 pre/amp. Most reviews are great w/ a sensitivity to match and all the inputs I currently need. 1 Drawback is no remote which is not a deal breaker but would have sealed the deal. I started the talks last month and it hasn't move, maybe in my favor what do you guys think of this Stand as my be all end all for time being. Yes it's a 3 hours round trip, w/ tolls involved which you guys know I have an aversion to. So for the price, travel time, strurdyness of the rack, name brand to be seen would this be a go gettor ? Quick , pros and con advice reviews would be appreciated....Lew

That's cheap. I use a sanus rack in my home theater. Solid wood ends, steel frame and thick tempered glass. The thing weighs a ton empty. I payed 400 for mine on sale, I would grab it.2 channel:

Lew, wth are you talking about? Is this for this stand or some piece of equipment? you lost me about halfway through your post, hehe
For the rack, I looked up the specs, since I was curious about the weight capacity on the shelves, as that would be the deal killer for me if they couldn't support much weight - pretty surprising on the weight capability! If I'm understanding the specs correctly, it's 70lbs for the bottom, 50lbs for all the middles, and 60lbs for the top.
For the money, if I needed a nice rack like this - and that one seems nice - I'd go for it. These things were over $300 new? Do you want a rack like this, or is there any other type you're prefer otherwise?

Crutchfield shows this as a discontinued item with the list price at $349.00 when active. Eighty bucks is cheap unless there is a big surprise somewhere.
I would jump on one at that price. Great find -
Good looking rack. Price is right. You might find the back middle support gets in the way with deep components, but other than that I say go for it.

Scott, That's the one I think and he still has it after months for sale. Like I said it would be perfect for me w/ the top shelf for the tt and all the other gear should fit. It listed it at $450 and he sells other electronic stuff. My problem is that at even $80, maybe $15 in tolls on the Turnpike then more than likely a 1/2 tank of gas my month is done. Scott, this is the exact rack I would want because it fits the 19'' rack mount devices I have enough shelves and is open air so the right 2B can air out like it's supposed to do. I don't have mad money but the devil shoulder in me wants to drive down there and get it. The Black Lacquer behemoth is starting to sway and I'm afraid it's going to give way any time now. The Sanus does have a good rep for sturdyness. Scott what your showing is the model he has I think.

dude, if you can manage it, I say go for it. as others have said, this is a really good deal, and especially if exactly what you want.
I copied out some of this post an added it to my notes for racks/stands. After seeing this, I'm thinking I should maybe be considering building up and not out. I'm just so indecisive about this stuff, due in part to not being fully settled system wise, yet. Who knows, I may end up with this (again)

Good find, I would get it. Not sure if your TT will be affected the same way, but I had mine on top and also tried on one of the shelves of a rack similar to that....had a ton of woofer thumping. Once I moved it out of the rack onto a sturdy table, all that went away.
The rack was next to the speaker and the TT was above the top of the speaker. Now the TT is in the direct path from the speaker to the side wall and has no issues being on a sturdy table, but did on the rack....just some food for thought if you have problems. -
I had the light maple four shelf version of one of those for a few years in a second system. Drawbacks are only around 8 1/2 inches height between most of the fixed shelves, the tripod design won't take gear with a deep cabinet like a large amp, and the glass shelves used are not all that thick and tend to resonate. It was pretty stable and looked good, and very easy to take apart and put back together. If the price is $80 and it's not scratched up it seems fair for the size.
I used mine with a Parasound P3 and A23 and a CD player and power conditoner. -
As you know by now I did get it. It holds the 50 odd lb ADCOM on the bottom shelf w/ ease and all the other devices are no where near that weight. Yes I did take it apart and then w/ one allen wrench put it all back together. There is 1 featue already mentioned that the back glass slides into a groove that's not all that deep and the front just lays on a small ledge. It's all I wanted and works. I also put it on a platform I made ages ago w/ plywood, and casters and of course painted it my world famous flat black.
