Vintage cabinet I.D.

My son in law has this vintage radio console. When he was younger it still had the original tube radio, but someone in the family gutted the cabinet and installed a dummy plate and knobs.

He is looking for information on this console as it has sentimental value. Even if he can't restore it to original, he is contemplating on modifying it with a vintage receiver.

I have done searches for Phillips, Fisher, and Curtis Mathis but can't find an "as-like".
If anyone happens to know (Mr.H *cough *cough) what this radio originally was, would appreciate the info.

Thanks
Ron
