    I used to spend $10k plus with Newegg annually, then they went to the "Amazon" way of business, but with poor customer support.

    Ordered $800 worth of power supplies, didn't see the small print of who was actually supplying the power supplies. Didn't know that Newegg was doing the Amazon thing because it was all in small writing.

    Anyway, the power supplies that arrived were some cheapos that didn't even fit in the PC cases I had bought. So I called Newegg to get it straightened out. They told me to contact the 3rd party seller that Newegg was not responsible.

    The sellers phone# was a magic jack # that no one would answer. Newegg didn't want to help. So I called my lawyer and the 1st question was who did the payment go to according to my bank statement. Well I was actually charged by Newegg so I had no legal recourse against the actual seller.

    Newegg would not refund me without taking them to court...so that was my last transaction with Newegg after years and years of business with them.

    Wonder if Newegg is selling the -- ahem -- above-referenced tools themselves? :-P

    It is sad to hear of their erosion; they used to be quite good. I haven't bought anything from 'em for quite a while, though.
