BI-wire

Is there any definative benifit to bi-wiring the RT 800i's if I am using only one amp/reciever. Intuitively it seems like you are just running more wire to bi-wire.

when you run single pair you use the jumpers provided so the "electrons" go to thier repsective posts and subseqent speaker patrs inside the blackbox.

When running a Pair of pairs the "electrons are seperated where the wires leave the amp....

Now if this where plumbing you'd be better off running bigger pipe to the speakers and tapping of for each connection there.
Is this not true for speakers ... can any of you fellas and gals clue me in if I am way off track here.. either way I purchased some monster 14/4 and 14/2 hat the home depot..

Also..... if there is a difference can it be quantitatively measured??

I would also like to know if there is indeed a noticeable difference in sound if we bi wire our speakers (i have the 2000's).

This is a subject that has been discussed more than a few times, I would suggest for more info do a search in the archives. I think Jason, one of the Polk CS dudes put up some good info......

Some swear by it, some say it isn't worth it. Like most things, it's very subjective. My personal experience is that bi-wiring with cheap wire and a receiver is probably not going to gain you much.
