I love Led Zep I. When I bought that in 68-69 I was in heaven, and played it to death. I now have all the remastered downloads on a playlist and just random shuffle through it on a Friday/Saturday night.

    Thank You"

If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you.
When mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me.

Kind woman, I give you my all, Kind woman, nothing more.

Little drops of rain whisper of the pain, tears of loves lost in the days gone by.
My love is strong, with you there is no wrong,
together we shall go until we die. My, my, my.
An inspiration is what you are to me, inspiration, look... see.

And so today, my world it smiles, your hand in mine, we walk the miles,
Thanks to you it will be done, for you to me are the only one.
Happiness, no more be sad, happiness....I'm glad.
If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you.

+1 on SACD. I'll always be partial to their first album because like BlueFox I heard it when it first came out as a kid when my buddy's older brother brought it back from college before anybody around us knew about it and said, "You won't believe this new band from England!" He was right and we played it over and over and over and over. Made a compilation cassette years later which included all their blues songs, of which they were absolute MASTERS!

You can't just buy 1. You need them all. They are all great and are all different, so get the new re-masters and thank me later. They are a collective and really need to have all of them.

BINGO! - I have all of them on the original vinyl, Don't know about the remasters there's been so many with some being not that great. I'm not knocking the new ones as I've not heard them but then again the vinyl I have does it for me and I'm happy so I see no point in the remasters. JMO

  • The new masters seem bright to me, anyone else?

The main thing I have noticed is the current re-masters have a little more air and decay in the highs (sparkle and shimmer if you will). The older remasters (non SHM) Japanese box set seemed to truncate the decay and air around the highs (seemed crunchier). The older seemed a tad grating vs. the new remasters which are better on the ears.

Not sure I would categorize them as bright, but probably brighter than the original vinyl. I think these are the best we are going to get in digital format.

Noticed this thread earlier. Been listening to them all from my PC while at work. The vinyls I have are a better version but you can't go wrong with any of them. Everytime I hear one that I haven't listened to in a while I say to myself that's the one. Then I hear the next one. Zep is in my top 5...

Get them all. You can't go wrong.
