    I received my Marantz SA-8005 yesterday. I got it through our own DSkip.

    Great service; Thanks DSkip.

    Hooked everything up last night. Set up the USB-DAC with no issues. Using JRiver for the first time so hacking my way through.
    I don't have any SACDs yet but spent the night spinning CDs.

    First listening impressions:
    Dead quiet, inky black background
    Excellent detail and imaging
    Great overall balance
    Smooth
    Rock solid bottom end
    Great pace (it seems as if the pace of music has slowed allowing my brain to catch up?)

    I am going to enjoy this piece!

    I do love mine and its DAC is excellent too. When you want to try some SACD's & like Elton John's music? Amazon has his SACD's for like $15 except GYBR which is about double the others.
    A ipod will plug directly into the front of it and the remote will even switch tracks on the ipod and the DAC really makes it sound a lot better especially if you have music rips into flacs on it. but I mainly use it like you are with a PC and JRiver media.

    Got over 100 hours on the Marantz and sounding great.
    I did some research and set up JRiver last night to play both PMC and DSD files.
    The Marantz works flawlessly - nice!
    I still need to get a SACD.

    I have been playing music via the usb-dac continously to burn-in my Marantz. Do the usb-dac and the CD circuits need to be burned in separately?
