TV, BR set up

With Black Friday gone, we picked up a Samsung 4K TV. We have a Sony BDP 6200. I know how to hook it up. But I'm reading about setting HDMI input on the TV to 4:4:4 or 4:2:2, wth does this mean? should I bother with all this? or just plug in my HDMI? I'm trying to get the best picture possible. I've already gone online to get some calibration assistance. But now I'm trying to dial in the best but I'm getting confused as to what I set my TV at and what settings on my BR.
Seeing as my AVR is only 1080, is there any point of running ARC ( BRP to TV to AVR )get better Picture or is this just a waste of time.

    This is what I am starting to think. It seems way too complicated for me right now. I'll need to play around with some of the settings in my BRP but I won't play with 444 or 422.
