TSI 500 or Monitor 75

Hello all,

I have the option to pick up a pair of refurbished TSI500's or new Monitor 75's for the same price (398 for the pair). Not sure which to go for. Sales guy said the TSI500 is two steps up from the Monitor 75. I'm not sure I buy it. Both sets seem to have very good reviews out there, but they also seem to be very close in performance (not two steps removed from each other). I have a Pioneer receiver which, for the life of me, I can't remember a thing about.

Anyway, suggestions? Insight? Preferences?

I wouldn't say there is a big difference between those two. Probably use the same drivers, but in a different arrangement. I would prefer the arrangement in the 500s, better timing/dispersion between the tweeter and mids in that D'appolito array! They're also more aesthetic in appearance.

Welcome to the forums! Stick around!

  • Yeah, that's kind of what I've gathered. The differences at this range of speaker don't seem to be all that big. The referbs still come with the 5 year warranty. Apparently they just needed to have the connectors replaced. All things being equal, I was kind of leaning towards the 500's.
  • Appreciate the input. When it's that close, I suppose it really doesn't matter.
  • Ive had the 500s for awhile, never had problems with them. I personally like the look of the tsi's over the monitors. At this point its almost just a visual preference
