Easy Runnin

My 4 year old Integra received just crapped out due to the dreaded HDMI board issue. I called customer support and explained the issue. The person I spoke with was first-rate. She sent me all the necessary packaging supplies to return the receiver. She even included a roll of tape to seal the box and a call tag. I shipped it out on the 13th and it was back on the 23rd. I was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. I don’t think this is the way most customers were treated when this problem first surfaced but it’s good to see they are doing the right thing now.

Now hopefully this thing will last as long as my CR800.

Onkyo treated me the same way. They serviced a receiver that I bought here used no questions asked 3 years outside of warranty.

I doubt it will last THAT long....

Yes, I had a couple of units picked up for extended warranty repair. Some years ago they set up their Special Service Program to deal with these issues for units out of warranty: http://us.onkyo.com/Support/service_info.php

Same here they repaired my out of warranty 709 due the HDMI board problem.

I picked up a broken Onlyo from CL for $30 found out the issue was covered by this extended warranty. They paid to ship it both ways and had it fixed for me in less than a week. Great deal and good customer support. It's unfortunate they didn't do this earlier as many people probably already sold or trashed their original units when they failed outside of warranty.
