Versatile and well regarded phono preamp. Lots of positive reviews. This unit is in good condition. Lots of loading options via convenient dip switches for MM & MC (30 Ohms to 100K Ohms). Gain settings ranging from 40dB to 60dB, so also suitable for LOMC cartridges. Capacitive loading options of 200pF and 300pF. Ability to operate battery or AC power. Now that's a versatile phono preamp!

    Not sure about the difference between the two versions but I would guess they share at least some similarities.
    For my Nova, I love the versatility of the settings available, allowing me to dial in my many carts. In my system, It has superb details delineation, very neutral but not lean, and across the board realism. Instruments just sounded so realistic. There is texture to the voices.
    Battery option has a quieter background but the AC option has a little more heft.
    You should check out the many reviews, as they probably explain it better than me.

    Yes, it is. Probably one of the key aspects of the design that make it performs so well at this price point.

    I had a phenomena I I and it was very sweet. The I I had a Walwart ps instead of a battery
