...on Rocky Racoon. I listened to this song as a kid, with hp's on and never heard it.
Granted it was a $100 Radio Shack Apollo II record player, but still...
I'm just surprised to hear something 'new' from an album that's nearly 50 years old.

Stereo, and the 'shot' is heard around 1:51, when Rocky gets shot. It's just Ringo hitting the drum with both sticks, but it sticks out(no pun intended)I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

Heh -- I listened to this on a CD (just the 1980s stereo version) last night & realized what you meant. I've got to say I am puzzled that you wouldn't have noticed it before; it's pretty unsubtle.

My take is that he noticed it, but like me, didn't realized the drum beat was the "gunshot" that took down Rocky.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -
Very plausible indeed, thanks.

This is an interesting discussion about the obvious.
It goes to show how people perceive things differently.
