Deep bass tracks suggestions to run on the Ushers.

I lost track of the thread where Skip suggested trying music with a lower end to listen to on the Ushers. Any ideas of what I should try?

I don't listen to a lot of bass heavy music, but I think that Beck's album, "Morning Phase" has a healthy amount of bass.

A Perfect Circle "Thirteenth Step" track "The Package"

A copy of the song in digital on FLAC, a CD, or vinyl record. Your choice. YouTube won't do it justice.

If you like Latin pop mixed with some African flavor deep drums, Brasileiro by Sergio Mendes is a fun album. Women have got up and danced here with this album. On CD and recently available on vinyl.

Oh man, if you haven't heard that album it's a must own IMO. The vocalist is from the band Tool, the guitarist is from Smashing Pumpkins, the drummer from Primus played with them for a while, fantastic music. This was probably the most popular song on the album. Thirteenth Step has great sound quality too. The entire album is about drug addiction. Some songs from the point of the addict and some from the point of the addicts friends and family. The song below is from the point of a friend/family speaking to the addict, "Why would I want to watch you, disconnect and self destruct one bullet at a time? What's your rush now, everyone will have his day to die." The first song above is from the point of view of the addict. "Just give me what I came for, and I'm out the door again."

  • Primus "Antipop"

Jewel "Spirit" The lows caught me off guard first time I heard it.

Quite the contrast between those 2. Hardhitting vs. Very mellow but very low.

YES (Keys to Ascension 1 or 2) Studio tracks on both. (Talk) one of my favorites.

King Crimson (Larks Tongue) or (Islands)

Bela Flek and the Flektones, Flight of the Cosmic Hippo album, song = Blue Bop.

Time Warp from Telarc, either the new Star Trek theme, or the Battlestar Galactica theme.

Steely Dan Gaucho, song = Time Out of Mind.

Jennifer Warnes the Hunter, song = The Hunter.

Tom Grant, In my Wildest Dreams.

  • Love Dark Star by Poliça and most of their album Give You The Ghost, has strong bass. Ms Leaneagh's echo vocals will give give your speaker highs a test.

    I concur w/daddyjt on:
Time Warp* from Telarc*, Steely Dan, or Tom Grant

    * Telac released several other "torturous" titles about the same time. You WILL enjoy the "programme(s)," your system however....

Can't say about DJT's other suggestions

Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. There are so many songs out there with low end stuff. However, when I want to see what type of midbass punch or low end pressurization a speaker has...I have a few tracks I tend to go to:

Lets Groove - Earth Wind and Fire
    Dirty Diana - Michael Jackson
    Speed Demon - Michael Jackson

If you have resonate problems in the room, these tracks will expose them! OTOH, if you have great midbass and sub bass, you will be slapped in the chest...in a good way!
