VPI Classic 2 Turntable (Walnut) newer version

VPI Classic 2 (Walnut) newer version with JMW-10.5T arm

VPI Classic 2 in walnut, newer version with motor in rear and power button on top of plinth. Has the VTA tower for VTA-on-the-fly adjustment. This newer version has the slightly raised metal portion of plinth top - design improvement to prevent plinth cover from sliding off table from accidentally knocks, essentially 'lock-in" the cover. Well-cared for and gently used. Very good condition with some light signs of usage. There are the usual unavoidable marks on the headshell from attaching cartridges.

Include the following accessories: user manual, power cord, VPI alignment jig, 2 hex wrench, azimuth rod, unused Delrin record clamp and rubber washer, unused tonearm damping fluid, unused tonearm finger lift, half tube of Super Lube synthetic grease, Shure Stylus Force Gauge SFG-2 and Soundsmith Counter Intuitive. Original factory boxes.

No cartridge or plinth cover is included

According to Mat Weisfeld on the VPI forum, this version of Classic 2 incorporated a speed controller (he called it a “mini SDS”). The arm is the newer JMW-10.5T (tapered one-piece construction with improved internal damping for resonance reduction). The Soundsmith Counter Intuitive device is installed and included (plus an extra unused sticker).

Hate to sell this but I have a few turntables and would like to free funds for an idler drive tt project.

Forum price: $2,499.00 plus shipping from 91775.
2 boxes. I accept USPS Money Order or Paypal (add 3%).

Also have the following optional items for sale (buyer of turntable has preference):
VPI Periphery Ring, mint (had 2 so essentially just used one) - $650
Dynavector 20X-M (medium output 1.00mV – this is the one made for VPI) used good condition - $375
Shelter 501 Mk2 used good condition - $495
Soundsmith Counter Intuitive VPI (new) - $39.99.

    Thanks, guys!

If the idler drive craze didn't infect me, this table would stay. I love this new look Classic, having owned a bunch of VPI tables in the past.

I would love to, but I am wondering how this would compare to my PX-3 head to head. I am looking for vast improvement over a small increase. Any chance we might be able to arange a meeting?

I generally have no problem with that, except I had already dismantled, packed and sealed the packages.

I am not familiar with the PX-3 so I couldn't comment on the differences. Perhaps you can head over to Vinylengine, AAyslum or AudioKarma ask the folks there?

Feel free to PM me if you have other questions.
