Crossover setting for lsim/sub setup?
Fronts: lsim 705's
Center: lsim 706c
Sub: dsw pro 660
As of now my fronts go to a carver amp and the center goes to a Denon X4100, but soon they will go to an emotiva xpa-3.
Just curious as to what the recommendations are for the small/large/crossover settings with these speakers.

Set to small & try both 60/80 XO & listen to which setting sounds best to you. Question - is there any reason you went with the 705 plus the 660 instead of going with the 707?
-
Well I already had the 660 and 703's, I just decided to go up to the 705's at the front and put the 703's in back.
-
Oh, OK, makes sense!
I am one of those guys trying to decide between the 707 and the 705.
-
Yeah I was debating as well; I basically went with the 705 because a lot of the posts here seemed to lean towards the 705's being a bit better overall.
-
Yeah, that seems to be the consensus here.
But I was told that the 6.5" drivers of the 707 match up better with the 706C and its 6.5 drivers.
And the 705 with its 5.25" drivers match up better with the 704c and its 5.25" drivers.
So, its still all a big blur, lol.

Physically yes they match. But the 706 blends seamlessly with 705's. Your auto calibration in your receiver/pre-processor will adjust the volumes accordingly. I think my 706 is only 1.5 decibels less than my 705's. No problems here. I think the bigger the center the better, as I've had the unfortunate pleasure of too small of a center. "Aka the lsic" depending on your room of course.
