I've been naughty:

Letting it warm up and burn in for a bit. So far, I'm REALLY liking what I'm hearing...

Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

    Lol

It's hooked up in my living room system. Focal 806V's and Velodyne SPL10 for now. I need to hook my FXi3's back up as I pulled them for the little Marantz NR that was on loan till I figured out my receiver situation. I did not trust that little guy to push too much.

I want to run hidden wire (basement and up walls) for the surrounds so they will take a little more time to get set up.

I brought the Oppo 103 in from the 2ch for my listening test as the long term plan is to bring it into the living room for good once I get an Oppo 105 for the 2ch system.

Source material so far has been some ALAC rips on a SS drive, HD Tracks 192/24 of Otis Redding's "The Dock of the Bay", and Muddy Waters "Folk Singer" SACD. Thus far, I'm in love with this receiver and Oppo combination...

    Yes, it will.

I'm pretty certain I just need to perform a software update to download it.
  • Congrats. Yes upgrade firmware will give you Atmos . The best thing about these elite receivers are their apps. Top notch.

    Loving this thing thus far.

I have not had a ton of time with it (kids sleeping, fall leaf clean up) but so far it has shown to be a very capable receiver.

    Just letting it break in...

I'm still learning this receiver. The iPhone app is F'ing awesome.

Easier to use than the actual remote, IMO.

I STILL need to hook up my surrounds, I have a lot on my plate recently and I'm not sure when I can get that project done.

I'm going to bring my AKG headphones down to the SC-87 tonight and see how the headphone section does...
