Recently acquired one sda 2 speaker from a thrift store[they only had one and no idea
where it came from}. Left them my contact info in case the other showed up.
Is it possible to recreate the other with parts{new/used} to have a pair?
Thanks for any info.

Yes. That would be way more work than it's worth, IMO.
Try to find the cabinet local, shipping plus the cost of the cab will be expensive. Then you'd have to spend $50 per midwoofer, probably around $30-40 for the passive radiator, $50 per tweeter (you'd also want to replace the tweeters in the speaker you already have), and the crossover won't be easy to come across.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

SDA crossovers are more complex than your average speaker. I would talk to @westmassguy about what would be involved in building them from scratch.
Possible? Of course.
I also don't know what affect using a slightly different density of MDF for each cab would be.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

If I were in your situation I would part out the speaker you have on ebay to make about $75-100, then grab another $100 and buy a pair of SDA 2B studios.
Another way to look at it: Is your time and all the parts needed to make another speaker going to equal more than $100? (the answer is yes). If so, you would be better off buying a complete set at the ridiculously low prices being asked for them right now.
Unless of course you REALLY want to spend time and money on a project for the fun of it.

I have built a few speakers using other people's designs, so I think I could copy the existing cabinet and I have assembled the cross overs for those designs{tho only 6 to 8 components} so I'm thinking of doing most of the work myself -possible?
Thanks for your reply, hoping for just a little encouragement if the other speaker never shows up.
