Heads Up = Parts Connexion has 25% off almost everything

Parts Connexion is having a 25% of almost everything sale. I just bought a pair of Dexa discrete dual op-amps for the EE Mini Max Plus dac.

Got a great deal because last week they also had free shipping for 1 day.

Just letting you know in case anyone has been waiting to buy some parts. Some of the higher end caps, etc don't apply, but most everything does.

No affiliation just passing it along.

Thanks for the heads up, even though it means your purchase wasn't that discrete... ;)

The Music Hall 25.3 DAC I modded got a big boost in SQ using discrete op amps. How much more mA do they pull over OEM? I had to beef up the PS in the 25.3 for the three discrete op amps I installed.

They draw more, but the designer of the Mini Max says it's alright to use them. In fact he started shipping them with that option at the time for more $$. Many people have used either the Dexa or Burson with excellent results. I didn't get the Burson because they stick up few cm's higher and the top won't go back on without modification.

I also bought the duals since I am only using the tube output which bypasses a pair of single channel op-amps. Eventually I'll replace the single channel as well in case I want to get better sound from the SS side. I am also going to put different output coupling caps in. Probably Obligatto's as they are the most cost effective without being cheap or breaking the bank. But I'll do that in steps.
