Oppo 103D Setup Questions

Just finshed working out a deal for a 103D that was for sale locally. Still under warranty, which I confirmed with Oppo is transferable with a copy of the original sale receipt. Picking it up tonight on the way home. Can't wait to get it in the system and give it a test drive!!!

So a couple questions for you Oppo experts out there:

1) Does video from front HDMI In and back HDMI In go through the video processor (and Darbee)? I know HDMI 2 Out bypasses the video processing.
2) For those of you who have the 103D, is video and audio quality any different (improved) using the HDMI split function vs. just sending all audio & video through the AVR?
3) Will my SC07 degrade any A or V quality since its "older" technology?
4) Best sound for 2 channel music from CD's or electronic files using HDMI to the SC07 or should I use the analog connections?
5) Any other helpful tips?

Thanks!!!

You're going to be extremely hard pressed to find an AVR with better DA processing than your Oppo. You can find better stand-alone DACs, but otherwise, let the Oppo do it - I have 3 Oppo players, and I use analog outputs on all of them. I don't have any of the "D" versions, so I can't comment on the video of the unit you are getting.

I know there's lots of Oppo owners out there, so please help to answer these questions for Oppo newbie!

    1) how good is the Oppo HDMI cable? I will be trying it out, but just wondering what other's experience is...
    2) is split HDMI worth trying? Splitting video & audio in two HDMI cables Does it help with audio and video quality?
    3) Tried playing with the Darbee a bit over the weekend. Currently have it set to 50%. Definitely better focused picture, but not much additional depth to the image that others have seen. Maybe its the size of my TV? 80" is big TV, but small theater screen. What do others have their Darbee set to?

I have a 103 and I tried using 2 HDMI, with one for audio & 1 for video and didnt see enough difference. but I found when I played a Hybrid 5.1 SACD I could not get DSD using HDMI cable for audio because my AVR could not decode it.
So I now use the analog cables for audio and let the oppo do the decoding and DAC work.
