I recently bought the Polk TL1600. Previous owner of my home has prewired the Bose proprietery wires on the wall and has a 4 socket female connect on the speaker side. How do I re-use the wire and connect to the Polk speakers?
Would appreciate any help since the Polk system that I bought is just sitting in the box for the last 2 week due to this issue.

What gauge is the wire? The speaker end has 4 wires? What about the other?afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

Not sure what guage is the wire - The speaker end has a female socket which has 4 pins on it - I can upload a photo for the same.

Sorry I missed to mention the other side is a RCA which is fixed to the wall - I'm assuming the receiver will then be connected to the RCA fixed on the wall

You could probably cut off the ends and use the wire inside. From the looks of it you won't be doing yourself any favors but it will work.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

I'm not sure whether I can upload the photos here but I can upload the one for the RCA on the wall as well and it looks like this

No. The RCA ends would have to be cut too. How close is the receiver to the RCA jacks?
Unless there is a lot of slack hiding in the walls it probably won't pull all the way to where you need it. Might be easier to just buy some in wall wiring and do a new run.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

I think you have no option but to go Bose

Which I hate - But the Receiver is sitting inside a entertainment center next to this wall RCA. Can I buy a banana connector plate and connect that to the wires

if it is in greenfield you could always use the Bose cable as pull
cable for some good stuff of your choice.
Do you have a second floor and a basement? -
I wouldn't use that at all, just let it sit for now and run some decent wire to the speakers from the receiver. Are the speakers in the same room, close to the receiver ?HT SYSTEM-
