Hello
This is my st post and 1st Polk Audio speaker issue.
I have been in contact with the Polk Audio folks and my sub woofer seems to be having amp issues. Since it been over 3 years no warranty...so I decided to send the amp into the Calif service department for them to determine the issue and decide how to proceed.
My issue is that I am not able to unhook the faston connection to the speaker. I tried from the amp and the connection from the wire broke off the amp.
The insie of the speaker box has lots of material that is fastened to the box which makes it difficult to get to the connections. I did use a needle nose pliers to try to disconnect the fastons to both the speaker and the amp.
Any suggestions? I do not want to break anymore connections.

Hello,
Welcome to Polk's forum. I'm sorry you're having problems with the Fastons, sometimes they can be a challenge. If you look really closely there will be a small tab that needs to be slightly pushed in to allow the connector to pull off of the terminal. I suggest working from the woofer's end rather than the amplifier.
Hope this helps, Ken -
The woofer end is covered with the batting material which makes it difficult to get to and see. Can I take out that batting or take out the woofer or any other suggestions?
Thanks for the quick response -
Yes, remove the grille cover and remove the screws around the circumference of the woofer. Sometimes you have to pry the woofer with a putty knife to loosen it.

OK...will try it tonight and hopefully send it off to calif tomorrow.

Sounds good...

OK....amp is out and being sent today. Now let's hope it's an inexpensive fix.
