SL 2000 questions

Guys/Gals,
Its been a while since I've been here. I trust all is well with my Polk friends. You may recall my thread about bringing my SDA SRS 2 set back to life:
Thread titled "SDA SRS 2 need CPR and ICU life support".

I'm just getting around to posting the four SL 2000s for sale. I'm curious about 2 things before I post them in the For Sale section. 1) I never heard them. The speakers were an complete overhaul before i even heard them at all. So i have no idea if they (the tweeters) work. Before i post them for sale, i want to check them to make sure. Is the 9v battery and some wire trick sufficient? As long as i hear a little pop is that sufficient of a check to make sure that i'm posting a truthful ad that they work? And 2) what are SL 2000s going for these days? What's a fair price to ask?
Thanks all!
Scott

IMO they are worth about $15 if they work.

Why not just hook them up to your speakers and make sure they work??

I just replaced one SL2000 tweeter in my SDA 2Bs. Now I have an idea how much this tweeter is worth. The RDO-194 tweeter is definitely much smoother and less harsh sounding than the tweeter it replaced.

Yeah, just pull a tweeter out from the speakers and plug each in while listening to some music. No harm there.

I recently sold a pair of SL2000s on eBay for $50 plus $10 shipping. People still want these things. I think they hold more value because they were used in a lot of different Polks over the years so they're quite versatile.

    You only replaced one tweeter?

Yes, because the original owner already had installed an RDO-194 tweeter in only one of the speakers. In fact, the original owner installed the tweeter out-of-phase when I checked to be sure it was in fact a RDO-194 tweeter already installed. Now that both speakers have RDO-194 tweeters installed and in-phase, I am quite surprised how smooth the sound is. The mids and highs rival my lightly modified Magnepan IIIa speakers with the true ribbon tweeter. The Magnepans best the 2Bs slightly in clarity with the mids but the 2Bs easily best my Magnepans in dynamics, impact and integration with my subs. Magnepans were never that great with impact as cone speakers can do and I always had some issues with integration with my Velodyne HGS-12 subs due to the lack of mid-to-low bass output of the Magnepans.
