    It's not a bug. They're "stickied" so they garner attention. If you hover over them - click the gear on the top right and you can "unsticky" them.

    Of course it is a bug. They don't belong in Recent Discussions if there is no recent discussion. At best, it is an irritating feature. Thanks for the tip on how to get rid of them.

    That's what stickies do -- they stick to the top.
    As the previous post observed; it is Polk's forum; their ball and their backyard, as it were. It's perfectly OK to play by Polk's rules!
