Tom,
First, glad to see you back posting. Hopefully you won't get too frustrated and leave.
I do have some questions. When you walk into a quick eat (excluding national chain fast food restaurants) restaurant and there isn't a sign that says "order here" or "pick up" here, what do you do? Just walk out muttering to yourself? Or do you take 30 seconds to a minute to figure it out?
When you go to a gas station you're not familiar with and can't quite figure out how the pump works, do you get back in your car muttering to yourself or do you take 30 seconds to a minute to figure it out?
When you go to a store you've never been in before and you can't find the charcoal, do you walk out muttering to yourself or do you take a minute or two to either find someone to help you or scan the signs above the aisles to find it yourself?
That's all I meant by my post. I'd rather be in the comfort of the old forum software too, but I am learning the new software because I have no other choice.
I still don't know how to unsubscribe from a thread in Vanilla, but one day I'll google it and figure it out when that thread becomes more annoying than it already is.

It's all good, H9. It was just frustrating to me to not be able to find a new post button. I never even thought twice to click on the new discussion button because I wasn't interested in new discussions on the forum.
This thread was more of a notice to the management team here at Polk. It would be nice if they could re-name that tab "Post New Thread". That's all.
With the old forum, you would have to go to the appropriate section of the forum, hit "New Thread" and post away. This is what I was looking for. I wasn't interested in new discussions over the broad scope of the forum, I wanted to post a new discussion in the Clubhouse.
Looking back on hindsight, it "kinda" makes sense. Well, not really truth be told but to each his own.
To answer your questions;
When I walk into a restaurant to order something, I find the teenager on his/her phone next to the register. At gas stations, if I can't figure out how to pump gas, I throw a match down the tank supply and go on my merry way. If I can't find charcoal, I club the grandma next to me and cut open the bags of grass seed on the way out.
One more thing. Old Mule rocks, family is good and all is well in the life of treitz3. Well that is until the grass seed police come to inquire about why I left Grandma in the isle. She apparently has a green beard now.

Hahaha Tony! I feel your pain. Add in the German threaded bolts and we have a conundrum. The trash is probably the best place it could be. When looking for a new one, I would highly recommend the Echo at around the $200 mark. We have been through 6 or 7 of different brands and types of blowers at this point and this one is by far my favorite (and quietest) blower so far. Zero maintenance after a year of daily usage whilst being stored in my truck bed toolbox. FWIW.

I have an Echo leaf blower/shredder and it works flawlessly and has a 5 year warranty. Mine is going on 3 years old and the only issue is the leaf collection bag has a small tear in the boot part that goes over the shoot. But I've put on and removed that bag going on a thousand times because I have 3 HUGE trees that shed enough leaves for to bury a small house so it gets A LOT of use October through November.
I will be making a warranty claim, so we'll see how that goes.

+1 on Echo. Have the Trimmer, Edger and Blower.

Pretty happy with my Stihl blower. Funny story, I have a Power Trim edger I bought used like 20 years ago. I don't think I've ever even changed the oil in that damn thing and it fires up on the 1st pull every time.
-
They don't make things like they used too. Please refer to Tony's post. LOL.
Never had a Stihl but their gear is on my radar, fo' sho'.

I'm always pleased when I come across a nut that requires an 11/32" socket.
Really ? You couldn't add ONE more 1/32" so that a ^@#$#$^#!@ 3/8" standard would work ? Sheesh.Sal Palooza -

See, you get it. Pisses me off I need 20 different sized tools to take something apart. They do that on purpose so you can't do any easy fixes and throw the darn thing out, go buy a new one.
Which I did too.

In all fairness, I had no idea where it was either. I was looking for new thread and must've looked over that button 10x. I finally had to control + F for 'new', and when it highlighted it and pointed it out to me, I figured new discussion probably meant new thread.
It's historically in the top left corner of every forum ever...and it says new thread. Different can be good. It can also be stupid.

Stihl makes great stuff and many pros use their gear. Only thing with them is if you don't get the gas/oil just right, they run like garbage or not at all. Very finicky, but they have balls.HT SYSTEM-
