Going to pull the trigger on one soon, need some feedback from actual users though. Users I trust here anyway, because online reviews are all over the place.
Basically I want to know any downsides you've experienced. Some keep saying it only does 4k in 30fps instead of 60, which is contrary to the specs. Some also say no fix yet for the Amazon or Netfix apps for 4k content, also contrary to what Sony is saying.
I hate TV buying today, their is just so much more to worry about than sets of yesterday. Plus like your android phone, you have to constantly have updates....which as we all know can work for you or screw everything up. So let me hear from some of you guys, likes/dislikes ?

My DLP just does not work in my new space. It faces the window and the side view is not great as it sticks out too much. I'm in the market for a 70" to mount on the wall and was looking around here recently. GOD, does that XBR70X850B have a nice picture! I would love a Sony but might end up with a Vizio or a Sharp or something...will see. I might see whats what during the beginning of the year.
You are right thought...there is so much to consider why buying and the feedback on the net really can be confusing.2.2 Office Setup | LG 29UB55 21:9 UltraWide | HP Probook 630 G8 | Dell Latitude | Cabasse Stream Amp 100 | Boston Acoustics VS 240 | AUDIORAX Desk Stands | Mirage Omni S8 sub1 | Mirage Omni S8 Sub2 -
No problem with my 850B other than an issue with the internal speaker causing the body of the TV to make a rattling sound when the bass and sound levels are turned up too high. In normal viewing that's not an issue, and it's something I have experienced with other sets.
Sound & Vision magazine recently gave the 850C a mediocre review based on their assessment of its picture quality. Can't say I agree with their assessment on that for the 850B version. Their beef with the 850C seemed to be something to do with their attempts to calibrate it to a reference standard for color and black levels. I don't do that. I just watch what's on it with minor tweaks to its default viewing setting mode for home theater. It does not have local area dimming for its backlighting, which seems to be preferred by videophiles.
The internal apps seem to work fine for me, including a couple of 4K movies from the Amazon Prime app. I can only recall the set needing one update in the last six months, and that was for the apps rather than anything related to the performance of the set itself.

This set will be used for mostly cable tv viewing, hows the pic on that ? Also have you noticed or experienced long turn on times when you turn it on ?
Since I'll never use the 3d, I was thinking about the 800b, but I want the better panel in the 850b. Don't see much difference in the C models either.HT SYSTEM-
