Systems that meshes

I have looked at speakers until my eyes are crossed. I am looking at spending around $1500 for speakers and need two back in-ceiling included. What speakers would you recommend? Will be used as total home system, not just movies. Room will be 23 x 27 with vaults.

Thanks.

The LSiM's are much better for music compared to the RTi's and don't need a big external amp for power.

That's subjective and certainly open to conjecture. My older RTi6 and RTi4 do very well with music. He can do a complete 5.1 RTi setup close to his budget and likely be quite pleased with the result. A PSW505 would fill in the low end nicely in a room that size. The lower cost TSi might be an option which would serve well also.

Cbeavs, if you can, get to an audio store that carries these different lines and get your own ears on them. Then decide on a system that fits your needs and budget.

Agreed but as much as I love Polk I'd look ID for a sub. SVS, Hsu, etc. Much better bang for the buck...

I have had Cerwin Vega A123s with Cerwin Vega R123s for a four speaker system 35 years ago. It had an Optonica (Sharp components) Class G 35 watt receiver.

Then, 17 years ago, I got a Bose 5.1 system but couldn't tell you the exact model.

4 years ago, I purchased a Samsung theatre sytem 5.1 in nature. I wouldn't get a "fused" system like this again. I want separate independent components and not one that if one things goes out, you have to purchase a whole new system

I want a 5.1 or .2 system. 2 in-ceiling speakers in the rear with two bookshelf speakers, a sound bar and possibly a sub in the front.

Wattage, say 100-125. Decibels per watt around 88-90.

Rooms a little big for the. 703's. Would probably look toward the RTI a line or RTI line. Maybe RTI A7's and higher end Pioneer, Yamaha, Onkyo, or Marantz, depending on what he likes.

Depending on budget, and where the op wants to go next, either FXI A6, CSI A6, or a fairly large sub. That would be msrp, 1k for the 7's, 400 center, and 500 for the FX speakers. Maybe a 2, 3, or 5 channel amp after front 3, and call it 1500 on sub, SVS Pb 12 plus(SVS above mentioned).

Better to plan on the amp on the mix CBeavs, big room means big power hungry speakers. The front 3 running from a good AVR, will out preform any HTIB system out there. Course you'll have to watch the volume knob.

How about the new T series? Dskip liked them. And might leave some cash left over to get a nicer sub, or buy a bunch of blu-rays.

And as mentioned above older RTI. I see them all the time on the used market for very cheap. I loved my RTI when I had them. And did great for everything. Nice build, nice finishes.

I would agree, the LSIM's are the better choice....and a better sub. Though the budget is going to be stretched on both. Big rooms eat up sound like crazy, especially with vaulted ceilings.
