I purchased a set of monitor 10b's awhile back. I have just recently discovered a low hum out of both of the tweeters when the volume is all the way down. It's such a low hum you can only hear it with your ear next to it. Not sure what to think of this... is this normal? Bad? thoughts?

Hello,
In all likelihood you're hearing the low level noise from one of the audio components in the audio chain. The tweeters are not capable of creating any noise on their own, only producing what is given to them. To prove this try removing the connecting speaker wires from either speaker and see if the noise is still heard. All active electronics produce some noise and as long as it isn't audible at the listening position there's no need to be concerned.

If it's a hum that indicates an issue upstream. If it's a hiss, it's relatively normal.Political Correctness'.........defined

Right now I only have it hooked up to a onkyo htr520 receiver. But that makes sense it's more than likely just the receiver because I hooked my speakers up to another receiver and it went away. Well thanks guys!
