SPEC 1 Up, C2 Down for repair.

Hello, I would like the opinion of some of the more well versed members here please. My Kenwood C2 Preamp is down for a rebuild. I intend on a re cap with modern Op Amps. During the time that it is down I needed a Preamp ( to use with the Kenwood M2/ Fully rebuilt). I am using my old SPEC 1 Pioneer for now. My question is this, I have some Thermistors NEC brand I ordered for My Fisher 500 I got a few extra when I placed the order ( I cant seem to get enough loose parts laying around ; ) so would it be a good idea to use one on the SPEC 1 being it is so old ?

I'd leave it alone and live with it until you can have it rebuilt by someone.
Are the parts an exact replacement for the Spec 1?
If not, don't mess with it. Normally caps are the big issues with older gear.

Cool deal, I just get a wild hair every so often. Just knowing that the SPEC 1 had not been rebuilt/shotgunned yet I thought it might be a good idea to put one in so as to limit the current at startup. After thinking a while about it today I considered the fact that it may actually have some sort of soft delay built in as it takes about 10 seconds before it comes on after the power switch it engaged, so thanks for your reply's.
