No, not with audio, but...Bourbon. Need to buy a present for a dude who is a bourbon drinker, Kentucky Bourbon from what I know. I know he likes smooth, a vanilla flavor with maybe some caramel taste to it. I think the brand he drinks is called something like Willette ? Never heard of it myself, but I'm not into bourbons.

Keep it under 100 bucks, whats a good bourbon to buy this guy that might blow his socks off ?

You can never go wrong with Makers Mark. Originally from KY and a bourbon drinker from birth. Well, that is except for the last 16 years. Just remember, if it's not from KY it is not bourbon. The Woodford Reserve mentioned above is also very good.

    Woodford Reserve

The Woodford reserve was my first choice, of those local to me anyway. A bourbon drinker at Binny's talked me into Stagg though....and of course, Kentucky baby. He had another named Blood something, small batch Bourbon too but never tasted it. Told me the Stagg, taste wise was more what I was after.

If the dude don't like it, too frickin' bad. lol

Just remember, if it's not from KY it is not bourbon.

There are many rules governing the making of bourbon.... this is not one of them and is a commonly misconstrued myth.
Our local distiller, Cedar Ridge, makes an excellent Iowa bourbon using locally grown grains, and aged either 3 or 5 years depending on the version. Both have notes of vanilla and caramel, along with a nice, spicy finish.

I understand the intent... I just didn't want it to be taken for truth.
We have thoroughbreds, bourbon, the hogs you mention for some of the best bbq available, and that corn makes some fine whiskey. I am just fine here..... :)

I just posted from my laptop and got a message that post had to be approved??? So this may show up twice .... or not at all???

Anyway, bourbon comes in two varieties: rye (corn, rye, barley) and wheaters (corn, wheat, barley). Different animals. I think Willett is rye based. I like rye based bourbons. A few of my favorites (from mild to spicier) are:

    Blanton's
    Four Roses Single Barrel
    Wild Turkey Rare Breed

Our stores are little tiny things, went to one in Dallas with Halen & Skip that was like a warehouse, everything is bigger in Texas. Never seen so many types of bourbon in 1 place. Here we have to ask for it if we wanted something special then wait for them to special order it.

I would describe all 3 of the bourbons I listed above as sweet with rye spiciness. They all have big carmel, vanilla, leather among other things.

These do it for me but telling someone about the best bourbon is like telling someone about the best tubes or cables.
