    @F1nut, yep, they went in the afternoon they arrived! Still working on the burn in but so far I really like them. So far I've only about 20-25 hours of burn in on them, but they seem to have more low end punch than the previous tubes I've had in there.

    Still have that magical tube middle though. So far, that's the biggest difference I've noticed, is the bottom end, though there does seem to be an un-quantifiable descriptor, they just feel more lively, more complete, I don't really know how to describe it though!

    Not knowing a thing about tubes and peak performance could you answer this. The burn in time, is that under a load w/ tunes playing whatever the volume or just leaving them on as some do just as a practice of being a tube owner who leaves the amp,pre,phono amps on. The guy I bought my Dynaco from had ALL tube gear which I listed and he did not leave any tunes on and used when ready after an hour of warm up. His power amp was a Dynaco ST-70 w/o the cage and going into all other tubed gear.

    Hey LW - I'm a relative tube noob, so others here may be a better source, but I am burning mine in the same way I do my speaks and cables, listening for the most part and also running them overnight with music playing. FWIW they basically stay on all weekend if I know I'm going to be listening, just off during the work week when I don't know if I'll have a chance. That's where the one-hour warm up comes in.

    While they are on a lot during warm-up I don't really count that as burn in time, assuming they need the dynamics of a signal to really get the burn-in process moving.

    I can tell you this, there's no doubt in my mind that they improve the longer removed from initial start up (warm up) they get, it's very noticeable the changes in musicality as things get good and toasty later in the evening. So that being said, I assume that having a signal running through them should be the process for burn-in as well.

    Tubes are being burned in the time they are powered up (i.e. the filament/heater lights up) regardless of music is passing through the tube or not. Plate current may not passed through the tubes if there is no music playing but the life on the tube is basically draining away as the filament is lit.

    All New Tubes should be completely burned in after 100 hours of heater light up time. Also, there should be little change in sound after the first 100 hours.

    Treasures made some nice tubes! I had KT-88 and CV-181 of Treasures and found them very pleasing.
    Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone. :redface::biggrin:
