Is anyone familiar with tonneau covers for trucks I have the choice between the Truxedo Low Pro QT, or the Extang Tuff Tono, those are the only 2 the Nissan dealership sells and I get a discount from them so it's cheaper to buy from them than from an aftermarket dealer.

I know it's just a tonneau cover but it's the wife's first accessory upgrade on her new truck and I want to make the right decision. These are both rollups so we can utilize the full bed for hauling stuff does anyone have either of these two brands? If so what are your thoughts on them, not interested in solid covers or tri folds. Opinions appreicated. Need to keep her happy so I can keep the WAF factor in check.

The thing I like about the Extang is that the bows are adjustable for a high and low profile option, the Truxedo is sexy looking.

I had the truxedo on my f150. Good choice for warmer climates.
It rolls up quickly and neat. But Ice and snow tend to sit on it due to the
flat bars that roll up with the cover.

That's some of the feed back I'm hearing the Extang crossbars can be set for a low profile or a higher bowed application to help prevent the ice build up. Thanks for the input guys.

  • I prefer my Undercover model that I've had on my Ram 1500 for years. We have even sat on top of it in lawn chairs to watch fireworks without issue and its light enough for me to take off by myself.

I had both the extang and truxedo on a 2005 nissan titan LE. I can say without a doubt that the solid tri-fold covers are WAY better than the fabric and much easier to take off and store. The fabric ones are just ok. The solid covers (like the bakflip) are very useful, practical and convenient. Just my .02 cents. I found mine on craigslist for around $200 as well.

    BakFlip F1 Tonneau Cover
Aluminum Underside - Reinforced FiberGlass Top

I preferred the Bakflip F1 vs Bakflip CS over the the all aluminum model

With the fiber glass top it won't dent
