The boxes are darn good! bolting them down to a wood base inside so they don't move around and can be turned upside down was a good move on them. They are fantastic for shipping 120+ lb items. Actually when I sold an older McIntosh preamp, I got a shipping box from them to make it safer so the glass didn't get broken.

I am excited for you. The Focus I had when I had them in the bigger room before I went to the tiny room and the 402 was a great match up. The 601 and the SE you have I think will have fantastic control on them.

I spent the weekend getting everything in place and testing functionality since I had both the 2 channel and theater apart. I'm going to one system now. It will function as both 2 channel and theater when needed.

20 amp circuits are in place and all components have a respectable power cable.

The dynamics of the new amps are great, soundstage has really improved and speaker control is awesome.

I haven't spent a great length of time critically listening but have a couple of hours on it. Mostly spent Sunday watching football, baseball and playing with setup. More to come over the next few weeks...

I know how many of you guys say without pictures it didn't happen. Here are a couple of the new setup.

Looks very nice and Clean! Glad to hear you are enjoying the 601s. What tubes are in the SLP-05?

Raytheon 6SN7GTB short bottle, side getter? Nice and very dynamic tubes. I love them so much I have 10 of them for spare! RCA 6SN7GTA (not GTB) version sounds very good and balanced as well.

Thanks. Good to know. I am new to tubes and only have the EH's and Raytheon's. The SLP-05 came with both when I bought it.

How do I know if the Raytheon's are the short bottle, side getters?

Short bottle means it's a little shorter than the regular sized ones that mostly found. There are tall and taller bottles in addition to the regular, and short bottles too. It just meant the length of the valve from the base to the top of the glass envelope.

Side getter means there is a small metal structure (halo, square, D shape, cup shaped, horseshoe shaped; etc.) at the side. It can be on the top, bottom, or the side. Sometimes, a tube have multiple getter that is on both the top, side, and bottom. It can also have dual getters or triple getters.

The silvery thing inside the tube is called flashing and it fades away as the tube gets very old or used up.

If you like how the Raytheon sounds, you probably be best to be at it and don't roll tubes. This is a slippery slope from there.
