Sorry I didn't vote because I haven't heard either. But I have just a very small covered entry into the house (maybe 5-6 feet deep and closed in on the sides) and I just use an old pair of rt25is. They sound great, they have held up for close to a year now with no issues, and best thing is I got them on ebay for something like $60 shipped. So if/when the elements do get to them, I will just look for something else used. If your patio is covered and you can place them in a couple feet on each side, they might be fine for years. And bookies will often sound better than the outdoor speakers. Just a thought...

  • Bass sucks in covered porches so get the biggest you can find. Sun damage is what will get them so try to keep them high and out of direct sunlight if at all possible. As previously mentioned you can probably get away with more traditional speakers if you do this. I've had a couple sets go bad and it was always the sun that killed them. Maybe grills nowadays are better but the speaker surrounds couldn't take direct sunlight on the previous sets I had.
