Tweeters for my RTA 11 T

Good morning all. This is my 1st post, here, as I am a new member. I am an old timer, owning a pair of LS 90s, as well as these RTA 11 Ts. I need to replace the SL 3000 tweeters, as they are blown. I need help. Thank you, Dan

are they RTA 11TL's then, and not RTA 11T? The former had the SL-3000, the latter the SL-2000. Either way a drop in, updated version is available from Polk Audio. The RDO-194 replaces the 2000, the RDO-198 replaces the 3000.

If they are 11T's you don't have SL3000 is what he was saying.

If you have SL3000 tweeters then you have the rta11tl. Call Polk cs and buy some rdo-198's as that is what is correct. You will need to pull the crossover to be sure. On the xo board will be a number please give that to us to help you better. Those sl3000 might not be correct if someone already replaced once

If you have the sl-3000's your good. 198's are better. My RTA15t's say that on the box also. But they are the RTA15tl's. ejh5uodixb43.jpeg

Excellent point on . Some of the late labeled RTA-11T's were also actually RTA-11TL's with the SL-3000 tri-laminate tweeters. It is best to check what is actually in the speakers. The SL-3000 usually has a gold-ish look to the dome but cal also appear silver. It should have a foam ring around the edge of the dome. The SL-2000 used in the earlier RTA-11T and is often referred to as the fish-eye because it looks like one.

You can also tell the RTA-11TL from the RTA-11T by cabinet features. The earlier RTA-11T had chamfered edges and a pedestal base. The RTA-11TL had squared edges and no pedestal. It also added a little plastic spoiler above the tweeter.awos0hwz9xld.jpg
