Oh, I am not sure that political solutions to problems aren't "unnatural".
My fundamental training is in many respects as a thermodynamicist -- basically, you don't mess with thermodynamics; they mess with you!

In my younger, more iconoclastic days, I used to opine that God is the Second Law of Thermodynamics (or, perhaps, vice versa). My perspective on this is a bit more "nuanced" ;- ) nowadays... but the trait of thermodynamic inevitable-ness is kind of baked into the system.

The First Law says you can't win.
The Second Law says you can't [even] break even.

all the more reason to just relax and enjoy the ride in this life, I'd opine...

It's hard to refute Thermodynamic Laws! Perhaps a little scientific balance is not a bad thing. Oh, well! We can kick the ball around all we want but sooner or later we all disappear! And that's natural law as well. Each year I'm a little less than the year before and next year even less and then? Poof! You gotta LOVE thermodynamics! But no, I'm not that worried either. Once you've lived long enough, Tony, you know the BIG BOYS will never let THEIR bubble burst, there will always be a FIX (or at least a bailout). Because the game is rigged, you know! lol

I'm opening a bottle of wine tonight! Salud!

Aren't we coming to the end of a 7 year cycle though? We've had a good run, I got out of most of my positions late in May of this year.

I also am a proponent of the Major Kong approach to life's little hiccups:

There's also something to be said for Lt. Dan's handling of setbacks:

Yep, mix and match each attitude as need be, and you'll have life by the tail !

I think you're right.... minimal gains for now I bet. Time to pay off loans instead of keeping it in a low yield market.

I tend to look at the markets like a train. We are all just passengers on someone elses train. Trick is, knowing which stops to get on at, or off at, before that hole in the tracks pops up around a corner.

.....think old westerns too. Always somebody waiting in the bush to hold up that train. Eventually though, the tracks always get fixed, robbers caught, sometimes not though, and the train continues on.
