I am looking to replace my Yamaha RX-A2010 with the Emotiva XMC-1. It will be used for 2-channel and multi-channel. I also will be using a Parasound 2250 to power my 703's front channel and a Parasound 275v2 to power my rear lsi7's. I will be using a Oppo bdp-95 also. Will the Emotiva be a good match or should I consider the Parasound P7?

When you say multi-channel are you talking about music/movies or both? If your talking music & movies (HT) don't forget you'll still need a surround decoder AVR or preamp. The P7 has a HT bypass for HT, it doesn't decode anything.
Why do you want to replace the Yammie with the XMC-1? Is there something lacking that has given you the itch? The Yammie is a great piece & the XMC-1 gets great reviews also. Your call but personally I'd stay put & add a nice sub or two (you don't mention you have one or what speakers you have). Multi-channel for me is both movies and music. My sub is a svs sb-13 ultra. I thought the Emotiva was a surround sound decoder and pre-amp. Am I missing something with this set-up I would like to try?

No one can answer that better than you. Emo has a fair return policy...give it a whirl in your system & you be the judge it it's a good match or not. If you like it, keep it or if not send it back. Nice sub by the way.

I think I'll order it next month as a retirement gift for myself. After nearly 40 years in law enforcement I need to pack it in an enjoy myself. I got hundreds of vinyl I have not listened to in years and its time to sit back and relax, finally.

I ordered the Emotiva XMC-1 and the parasound 2175v2 last Saturday. Should arrive later this week. I hope it blends in just right.
