I put up my Niles SP-6 speaker selector for $25 on C/l. Yes a bit high but firm was not in the ad and I got a bite. The guy asked if I would please go down to $15 and I begrudgingly said yes and set up the appointment for today. In the mean time I got a great Adcom 6zone selector $17.50 E-Bay w/ better twist knobs on back that except lower gauge wire. The guy calls and says can I hear the Niles and I no it's out of the system and I'm not taking it apart. It works, it's pristine and if you don't believe me turn right around and forget the sale you cheap **** you. He was coming from North Jersey to save a few bucks and spend it on gas.

    It would be perfectly OK for you to say -- politely -- that you are not prepared to go through the effort to reassemble your system with the Niles in it and that, if the potential buyer is not willing to make the purchase without an audition, he is free to move on.

    However, if you were rude (as your post implies), then you are on the wrong side of the issue.

    I hear you guys, but there is a back story also. I was in contact w/ him multiple times and this was the 1st time he asked to hear the device. I think going down in price and dealing back and forth w/ him really ticked me off. I did say no, it was all packed up ready to go and not in the system and then he charges how do I know it works and then I blasted him.

    Yes but Skip, did you have to disassemble your rack for your demos ? I told him your buying a spkr selector and said I also have speakers for sale but not listed because I have no Florida, mud room or garage and don't need stranger danger traffic in my house. It's not the price of the item, it's the principal he never asked in the 1st place and I'm almost positive people here have bought things w/o trying them out just on looks and model alone. If it doesn't move with in a reasonable amount of time some newbie would want it and I could pass it down the line. Perfect example me, getting the Adcom-6 off E-Bay and my Adcom555 from Audio Classics sight and sound unseen/heard just on rep alone... No afflliation to either just saying.

    Thank you, I don't have anything extra to hook up and P-Man saw what we went through to rearrange my rack and had hassles doing it ,so a big no to that putz.
